Precautions and maintenance methods for operating vacuum circuit breakers

Precautions for operation:

Before operating the vacuum circuit breaker, a comprehensive and meticulous inspection should be conducted to ensure that it is in good condition. Especially before reusing after long-term storage, it is necessary to inspect the main body and protective device of the vacuum circuit breaker, and conduct transmission tests to ensure good opening and closing and normal signal.

During the operation, it is important to always pay attention to whether the voltage, current, and power indicator lights are in their normal positions, as well as whether the opening and closing situations are normal.

3. It is strictly prohibited to use pressure plates and jacks to slowly close the circuit under live conditions to prevent accidents from occurring.

If the electric opening and closing operation fails, immediately disconnect the control power switch or remove the control fuse to avoid burning out the opening and closing coils.

5. In special circumstances where emergency manual operation of high-voltage circuit breakers is required, approval from the dispatch must be obtained before proceeding to ensure the safety and accuracy of the operation.

Maintenance and upkeep methods:

1. Regular replacement of rubber parts: Due to the high sealing performance requirements of various components of vacuum circuit breakers, rubber parts should be replaced regularly to ensure good sealing performance.

2. Regularly inspect all major components, including checking the status of overtravel and restoring springs of moving contacts, the wear of moving and stationary contacts, as well as the condition of nonlinear resistor porcelain bottles and desiccants. If any problems are found, they should be dealt with and replaced in a timely manner.

3. Keep the air circuit clean: An oil-water separator is installed on the intake pipe of the main circuit breaker's air storage cylinder, and regular drainage should be carried out to keep the air circuit clean and prevent foreign objects in the pipeline from blocking the air port or entering the arc extinguishing chamber, causing malfunctions.

4. Regularly check the vacuum degree: For vacuum circuit breakers, maintaining the vacuum degree is crucial. A vacuum tester should be used regularly to qualitatively test the vacuum degree of the vacuum extinguishing chamber to ensure that it is within the allowable standard range.

5. Take measures to prevent moisture and dirt: install mesh and filter screens on ventilation windows to reduce the possibility of dust entering the switch room; Infrared light heating or dehumidification devices can be installed in damp switch rooms to maintain dryness; Cable holes and cabinet bottoms that may be exposed to moisture should be sealed to prevent moisture and small animals from entering.

6. Strengthen maintenance management: Establish a sound maintenance system and strictly implement it to ensure that the vacuum circuit breaker is always in good working condition. At the same time, regular training should be provided to operators to improve their operational skills and safety awareness.
